His Banner Over Me is Love - from The Song of Solomon Artist’s Banners
Christ Jesus’ passion is for you. Solomon writes a story about a woman in his court. He is her captor, but she is another’s. She has troubled nights and evenings, running here and there, seeking her Beloved. She tries to secure him in one place. Where is He? He reassures her. He adores her. They exchange longing for each other. She doubts, and points out her darkness. He reassures her. She is lovely. She is a “lily among thorns”.
She is abused by her brothers. She is exploited in their service, a captive.
But she knows - “His banner over me was love”. Tattered and torn, but Jesus sees only the most beautiful -you. Jesus will return for you. Believe in Him. Trust in Him. Return to Him. He never leaves you nor forsakes you. Exchange His passionate love. Reassurance.
I have created banners to remind you. These banners are in all states of beauty and turmoil. May they be a reminder to you that He is coming for you. One day we'll be sitting, raising a glass, toasting. Victorious.
Banners have long been on my artist mind. Banners represent lives to me. Brides of the Beloved. Be encouraged! Believe that Jesus has a banner of love over you.
Be saved. Confess Jesus with your mouth. Rely on Him.
Seek the Bridegroom. He is Jesus. The love story of the Bible. He is the Word. God loves you. He sent His Son for you. He has prepared a place for those who love and follow after Jesus.
Do not stir or awaken love before it’s time. Lovesickness debilitates us. The banquet table is the time for this. For now, there is work to be done. Take up His banner.
Return to Him. Secure Him in the house of your youth, the beginning of you when you were young. You knew Him. And how to secure Him. How to be secure.
How to trust.
